[Nightmares to reality- Deal with it!] Workshop by alumnus Mentor Jaysee Eisvran | Wed 19 Oct, 6.30pm
6:30 PM — 8:30 PM (2 hours)
Description
This session is open to NTU students only.
Synopsis:
Currently a product Manager who is in transit from Treasury Products to Credit Cards. Having been a graduate from a design school whom everyone thought would struggle and drop out, I managed to succeed, get promoted 3 times over a period of 3.5 years and beat expectations while defining new boundaries. With the common saying in banking, “its a dog eat dog world”, I have had to build courage and deal with the most difficult people - from ground staff to management. I would like to share how we deal with people in terms of stakeholder management and team member management without getting any demotivated. Indeed we do better than expected once we overcome this hurdle with half the battle over. Having been a student, I realised these critical aspect exists even at university when we do projects or FYP. Hence, the session will benefit students who realise that they are often facing problems on projects, both emotionally and mentally, and how we can overcome them.
Will run through a typical life of a product/ project manager/ business analyst ( been through all of them in my career) and how this skillset will effective make them better in stakeholder management which is the key to product and project management. During my sharing, we can also do role playing where they get to relate and learn hands-on. Its something I do with my own teams as part of team building- feedback was very positive hence confident that it may be engaging and insightful.
