Summary

Chong-Meng is an accomplished professional with more than 18 years of experience, proven track records expertise in the pharma-biotech industry.

He is currently responsible for site wide manufacturing operations and technical functions across both Mammalian Manufacturing (MM) and Cell Gene Technology (CGT) businesses.

Prior to his present role, Chong-Meng was heading the MM function with a headcount in excess of 200, offering small (single-use) to large (stainless steel) scale clinical/ commercial manufacturing of monoclonal antibodies/ fusion proteins. He was responsible for all cell culture, purification operations in addition to master production scheduling, deviations investigation and master batch record documentation. He had also led his team through multiple successful FDA and EMA PAIs.

Before moving into the biotechnology industry, he was acting Manufacturing Lead for an antibiotic production facility with a high throughput of 1900 tonnes per annum, followed by Manufacturing Lead for a multi-modular bulk steroidal API facility producing the companys best selling franchise with an annual sales of GBP 6B.

Between 2006-10, Chong-Meng was a Senior RD Process Engineer and led the commissioning effort for a GBP 38M new late-phase pilot plant facility. Subsequently, he led the scale-ups developments for 8 new chemical entities (NCEs) across 17 chemical transformational stages. He was also managing capital projects totaling GBP 2M simultaneously.

In his career, Chong-Meng has been frequently placed in roles to accelerate/ spearhead changes, identify best practices, streamline workflows. He is also known for his ability to make critical decisions.
