A 2nd-year Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering student with a second major in Food Science and Technology from NTU who has work experience in the education and communication sector. I have worked as a private English home tutor for over a year and am currently working part-time as a Communication Coach at the LCC CommCube. I am very interested in the pharmaceutical and food industries and doing research. Upon graduation, I hope to be able to pursue these interests so as to utilise and further hone my skills. In my free time, I like to volunteer, bake and employ my proficiency in English to do freelance proofreading.

Tan Kia Yin (Alice) SingaporeI edited PSLE Science Sketchnotes for Tan Kia Yin (Alice), a primary school science teacher who took on the task to write easy-to-understand and beautifully illustrated notes on the primary school science syllabus in Singapore. I worked with her to encapsulate the accurate scientific meaning in her text while maintaining grammatically accurate and simple sentences so as to make it easier for the youth to grasp scientific concepts. My scientific background helped in ensuring that the concept was not altered during the editing process.

When I was working at LCC CommCube (Jul 2021 - Present), I demonstrated the Time Management skill when I was part of the Communication Coaches team, which required each coach to work for at least 5 hours a week. To tackle this challenge, I proactively adopted strategic planning and assigned priorities to all tasks I had to complete. This enabled me to stay on top of my work and ensured that I could continue to pursue my side-hustles such as private home tutoring and hobbies such as baking while studying full-time. As a result, I managed to strengthen my ability to prioritise and manage my time effectively.
