When I was working at Nanyang Technological University (Aug 2020 - Present), I demonstrated the Leadership skill when I was responsible for organizing a sporting event in hall. As a member of my dorms sub committee, I organized a sporting event to bring people together and foster community spirit. I began by seeking the assistance of a few volunteers to assist in the planning and execution of the event. We decided on a date and confirmed the location. However, due to the heightened alert measures last year,we could not go through with our plans as the sporting event would breach the covid-19 regulations. So I took the initiative to email Ntus student union to clarify what could be done, and recreated the instructions and modified plans with the help of student union so that program could be implemented more seamlessly for current and future team members. The plan was to do an online Hiit and yoga event, where residents would challenge one another to an intense workout routine. This initiative of mine helped fulfil our initial goal while complying with guidelines.

When I was working at Nanyang Technological University (Aug 2020 - Present), I demonstrated the Management skill when I was part of a team for a project. When my team member wasnt carrying their weight in the work ,i realised the issue needed to be addressed head on. I spoke with the team member directly. She asked to speak with them in private, and took the approach of asking pointed questions to understand why the person wasn’t doing what they said they would. Because the issue was addressed thoughtfully and without outright blaming or shaming the person, I was able to learn that they had too much on their plate and the work needed to be redistributed so their workload felt less overwhelming. Icame to figure out that what she was skilled in and hence delegated a particular role for her. This worked out well because it brought out the best in her ability to contribute. That way, it psychologically also motivated all members to put in their best effort. Eventually we successfully completed the project without any other issues
