Summary

I have more than nineteen years of experience in helping business leaders think differently, building HR capability, and facilitating organizational change. Colleagues and clients appreciate my abilities to listen, analyze complexity, discover root causes, and generate practical insights together. My rare fluency in both English and Mandarin had been instrumental in bridging cross-cultural differences in perspectives between my former American and Chinese colleagues.

An engineer by training, I like to use deep, analytical, and systems thinking approaches to help leaders transform themselves so that they can better lead their organizations to transform.

My deep interests in behavioral economics and the use of psychometric tools has helped many individuals uncover more of themselves. I have also assisted various intact and cross-functional teams across Asia, especially in China, to enhance their way of working with each other. I am also curiously passionate about how we can prepare our workforces for the time when AI and deep learning will disrupt the way we work.

Before becoming head of HR for Haw Par Corporation, I held a variety of local and
regional HR roles at Philips, outsourced semiconductors provider United Test and Assembly
Center (UTAC) and electronic solutions provider Molex, a Koch Industries company. Earlier on in my career, I worked as a client relationship manager and IT applications development with SmartForce/SkillSoft and Singapore Airlines respectively.

I graduated from NTU with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Computer Engineering) in 1996. I am a certified facilitator of DDI IM:EX leadership training series. I am also certified to administer the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and Firo-B/Firo-Business. I have developed a unique methodology combining MBTI and the Gallup StrengthsFinder to help clients paint a high-resolution portrait of themselves.
