Summary
I started my career in biomedical research and journalism. But now, Im what you might call an accidental learning experience designer (LXD).
Ive always been a curious learner, which was probably why Ive always enjoyed research and reporting, since these roles thrive on having an inquisitive mind. As an LXD, much of my work and approach have been inspired by things that are not seemingly related to learning at first glance — from principles of game design to ideas in philosophy.
I like to spend my free time reading and going on bird-watching trips once in a while. If youd like to connect, Im always up for a chat or coffee!

Anthony Tan's Skill Profile
Learning Experience Designer @ NewCampus
When I was working at NewCampus (Oct 2019 - Present), I demonstrated the User Research skill when I was tasked to do user interviews to gain insights for improving the effectiveness of our learning programmes. To tackle this challenge, I proactively sought feedback and alignment with my coworkers on the progress of my work. As a result, I managed to strengthen the user experience of the improved programme.
Q&A with Anthony Tan
How do you effectively manage your work?
It took some time for me to figure this out on my own but Ive learned that it requires a combination of managing time and energy, breaking down a project into manageable chunks for each week. Riding on small wins helps.
Also, Im working in a highly collaborative environment, another thing that Ive learned to manage better is managing expectations and getting stakeholder buy-in with the people I work with.

What would you bring to a team if you join them?
My coworkers tell me that my superpowers are learning and being able to bridge knowledge. During our team meetings, Ive received feedback that they enjoy hearing ideas that Ive brought to life in my work/product design, and its outcomes have also made a positive impact on our users.
