What are some mistakes that you have made in your career? How did you deal with it and what have you learned from them?
I was brought into the marine industry through the traditional path of being influenced by my parents and pursuing an education in the affiliated institutions.
Though I have been successful in many of the roles and organization that I have worked for, I realized that it was always the people development and the diversity of the workforce that interests and engages me the most. I only came to realize in recent years that these are typically formulated around my motivated skill-sets but I have been traditionally seeking employment and performing my roles and duties with my burnt out skills.
Now that I discovered the motivation behind my drive and passion for talent development, I am continuously exploring new methodologies and concepts to value add to my engagement with the people around me.

What sacrifices have you had to make to succeed in this field, and do you feel the sacrifices were worth it?
In my tenures in the marine and offshore segments, I had little work-life balance and time for the family because of the frequent travels and long work hours. The biggest takeaways were definitely the high remuneration rewards and the opportunities to experience different diverse cultures.
For the current role , the high remuneration rewards have been traded in exchange for a better work-life integration and the time spent with the family has been highly rewarding. It has also enabled a continuous steep learning journey and opportunity.
