With over three decades of learnings and battle scars from deep in the trenches of innovation and transformation, I’ve worked across multiple industries in APAC, the US, and the Middle East. My career has spanned hands-on, leadership, and influencing roles, equipping me with the expertise to bridge both business and technology, and strategy and execution, in fast-evolving digital landscapes.
I’m energized by finding unique and creative solutions to complex, multi-faceted problems. I love to craft bold but achievable AI and Digital Transformation strategies and roadmaps, coach customers to enable transformation success, and oversee the delivery of complex programs of work.
I find fulfillment in empowering the next generation through The Ingenarium, an initiative dedicated to preparing youth for the future world of work. The Ingenarium equips students with digital skills, entrepreneurial mindsets, and purpose-driven learning pathways to thrive in an increasingly dynamic and technology-driven economy.
As a part-time musician and even part-er-time filmmaker, I bring a creative lens to everything I do - whether it’s designing innovative AI-enabled solutions for businesses or nurturing the curiosity and potential of tomorrow’s leaders. Q&A with Craig Ower
How do you attempt to overcome your lack of knowledge in particular areas?
In the IT industry, getting real knowledge can be difficult given the hype and marketing that surrounds new technology. I think you need hands on experience with at least the fundamentals of your discipline, otherwise you will never be able to judge how much trust you can put in the information you are being given by experts and specialists. Technology changes so fast these days, that you will need to verify virtually everything you hear - and your background knowledge and experience will help you get a sense of how much confirmation you need for particular claims. I find AI a great learning and research tool - but without a background grasp of IT and broad general knowledge it would be difficult to detect hallucinations, biases and other issues in the AI responses.

What are some personal projects or ideas you have worked on or are working on now?
I am currently working on training and tools to help students prepare for the VUCA world of work in the digital century. As a father I was concerned that my sons education was not including the tools that I use to help organisations deal with uncertainty and the need to constantly adapt to a rapidly changing environment. During Covid we interviewed more than 30 experts from the fields of politics, education, career advisory, business and entrepreneurship as part of a global online event - the Design Your Career Youth Summit, which was attended by more than 30,000 students.
