Summary
Hi there, I am Dione!
I am currently the Chief Commercial Officer at Love, Bonito, where I oversee the growth and strategy of our global expansion, fundraising, performance and innovative ventures especially into omnichannel and new retail.
We are the largest D2C womenswear brand in the region today, with a team of 200 across the region, but our ambitions extend far beyond this.
Our ambition is to be the largest female lifestyle brand for the Modern Asian Woman, both in Asia, and beyond, and to represent what it means when one thinks of new retail.
Prior to this, I spent some time at Sephora Digital heading the Australia New Zealand e-commerce business and Digital Marketing for APAC, just post Sephoras acquisition of beauty e-commerce Luxola.
And prior to that, I spent four years at ZALORA, the largest online fashion retailer in Southeast Asia, where she was the Managing Director of Singapore and drove several notable projects, including Sephora’s first foray into click-and-mortar.
Aside from work, I am passionate about female empowerment, workplace diversity, youth development and being part of conversations and initiatives that enable communities and do good for the greater society. In 2019, I was also the Co Lead for Somerset Belt Working Panel.

If you could do it all over again, would you choose the same path for yourself? If not, what would you change?
No regrets! I actually studied Economics and was in undergrad business school and first started out my career in banking. I explored a whole slew of various banking roles from IB to Equities but didnt seem to find my passion, till I chanced upon a role with Rocket Internet and then joined one of their ventures ZALORA!
No regrets absolutely as I believe that everything happens for a reason. My business and economics background gave me a balanced skillset and perspective to jump into banking and also general management roles, while my initial stints in banking have proven useful too when driving the business (decent finance acumen, solid understanding of PL, fundraising) etc.
The first few years of my career in e-commerce then gave me a great hands-on understanding of marketing and e-commerce management, which has enabled me to truly understand the ins and outs of e-commerce business, down to the exact execution, which has proven useful today in the managing of my teams, as I feel able to truly relate and empathise with them.

What excites you about the field that you are in?
As part of the senior management team (even as a non founder), I enjoy a good level of autonomy and ownership and am excited to be able to truly effect change through the organization and the business strategy!
Being part of one of the leading direct-to-consumer brand in Asia (in a region where there arent that many solid brands and mainly marketplaces) means that we typically are at the forefront of what it means to be an innovative brand and roll out our interpretation of what it means when it comes to new retail, which is all about the community, experience, data and technology!
