Summary
With a meticulous and curious nature, I am currently an undergraduate majoring in Business. My strong interest lies in the fields of human resources. Prior to pursuing my Business degree, I obtained an Arts Business Management diploma. I believe that my sensitivity to cultural literacy, coupled with my expertise in events management and research, has significantly contributed to my keen interest in heritage and culture projects.During the period of 2021 to 2022, I served as the secretary for both the Ngee Ann Chinese Orchestra and Ngee Ann Support-ify clubs. This experience provides me with valuable insights into organizational dynamics and hones my administrative skills. My passion for documenting local heritage has led me to volunteer on projects focusing on the development of various sectors, including midwives in the 1970s and herbal culture, under the National Heritage Board. My competencies extend to tasks and administration management, proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro, as well as knowledge in exhibition management. These skills are instrumental in successfully contributing to projects that serve the Special Educational Needs community, the mental health wellness community, and the design of a light projection on a Merlion in MBSC2022 Share The Moment.I am currently seeking opportunities to leverage my skills and knowledge to create strategic methods to revitalize the heritage scene. I am enthusiastic about learning and eager to connect with new people who share a similar passion. To learn more about me and my portfolio, please visit https://gawyongen.wixsite.com/portfolio.

Gaw Yong En's Skill Profile
HR Intern @ ChampionX
When I was working at ChampionX (May 2024 - Aug 2024), I demonstrated the Policy Analysis skill when I was responsible for reviewing existing Australia and New Zealand HR policies and I identified a possible gap that the Indigenous Recruitment Policy only included the Australian Indigenous when its scope covers both Australia and New Zealand. To improve the situation, I proactively researched the various indigenous groups in both countries and discovered that there are existing treaty and legislation that protects the Indigenous New Zealander, such as the Te Tiriti o Waitangi which protects the rights of Maori population. I proposed to add a section to include the Maori in our policy. As a result, I managed to positively affect the inclusiveness and validity of our policy in the Australia and New Zealand district.
