Give an example of a recent industry development that captured your attention, and what insight or thoughts you have about it.
Physical meeting is an effective way of communication for collaboration but it tax on resources like timing/effort to book meeting rooms, scheduling timing of stakeholders etc. Now, meetings can be organized online easily via web conferences software like Zooms, Webex and Google Hangout etc. This is exciting to me because the development of web conference technologies promotes more collaboration and can create more value for the organizaton at a whole new level!

I am a firm believer of magic of compounding. I allocate at least 30 minutes daily to read about reports and articles relating to Supply Chain Management - this add up to 183 hours a year!

Describe a project or idea (not necessarily your own) that was implemented primarily because of your efforts.
I was leading a sourcing project for the procurement of IT Hardware for my organisation, which has about 20k staff. In order to maximize the value creation for my organisation, I adopted strategic sourcing methodology for this project. Strategic Sourcing is a structured approach which has 7 keys steps namely, Determine verify requirement, Conduct market analysis, Develop vendor engagement strategy, Go-to-market, Select vendors negotiate agreement, Implement contract, Ongoing supplier management. Each steps is exciting yet challenging because they required to me use different skill sets - I get to interact/get buy-in from many different stakeholders, deep-dive into market reports for market intelligence, negotiate with vendors for best value for my organisation, conduct internal survey for vendor performance and many more activities.
