A career in events can be enormously rewarding and were always on the lookout for new talent. That said, Im also happy to offer guidance and support to those entering the job market - it can be a difficult transition from education into the workforce!

What are some mistakes that you have made in your career? How did you deal with it and what have you learned from them?
Its not just about working hard, its about working smart - measure success in outcomes rather than in number of hours worked and recognise that theres a point at which the law of diminishing returns kicks in and you need a rest. If you work smart and stay organised, you can succeed.

What are your interests and in what way does this career satisfy your interests?
I love bringing people together and in B2B events, thats really the heart of what we do. Were connecting buyers and sellers and creating that serendipity that helps get business done.

What is the biggest challenge that you face in this field?
Right now, the biggest challenge is talent! During the pandemic, events took a real hit and we had to move everything online for more than 2 years in Asia. That put a lot of people off joining the industry. Well, events are back now and are in full-swing, so we need that fresh wave of talent.

What do you like most about your work?
Working in B2B events is varied and exciting. Its definitely hard work, but theres nothing more rewarding than seeing hundreds or thousands of people gathered together because of work that you have done. As the MD, now I am most fulfilled by seeing my team experience that.
