Summary
Prior to coming into University, I have had almost 8 years of experience working full-time. After enlisting into the army in 2015, I decided to sign on and become a regular as an Infantry Army Officer. I conducted several various in-camp trainings and outfield exercises and mentored soldiers with no prior military experience. After I finished my contract, I went to work as a cabin crew for Singapore Airlines for approximately 3 years. Being in the airline industry had taught me a lot of valuable lessons such as having empathy for others and independence, especially since I am overseas alone most of the time.
Currently, I am a Year 2 student in Nanyang Technological University, pursuing Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. I aspire to work in the Social Services industry upon graduation, which is the driving factor that made me decide to pursue further education after working for almost a decade. I am still trying to find my niche in this field but I am willing to learn and overcome all obstacles along the way!

What would you bring to a team if you join them?
I believe that I am a very good teamplayer, someone who does not just listen to others well, but will actively contribute as well. For instance, during my time as a commander in the army, not only did I just take orders from my superiors, I will also voice out my thoughts and opinions whenever I have an idea to conduct an activity more efficiently. As a leader, I would want those under me to receive the best treatment and training there is.

What achievements in your career are you most proud of?
The biggest takeaway I gained from being a cabin crew is improving on my adaptability skills. This is because the nature of the job requires me to work with different groups of people for every flight, which includes having to work under different leaders. As humans tend to have varying leadership traits and qualities, I had to adapt myself every time to their leadership style so that I will be able to work well under their guidance and ensure a smooth service throughout the flight, which is crucial to achieve 100% satisfaction of passengers.
