Summary
Wei Lin is a small-town guy who believes that happiness is sustained by being of service to others. His Ikigai is to be actively involved in building and investing in businesses which has a positive impact on society.
Wei Lins mental model framework is built upon various disciplines, especially in the field of Mathematics which he finds useful when he dabbles in various endeavours, such as music, business, investing, writing and coaching. He is also the co-author of two books, in the area of mathematics and investing.
Currently, Wei Lin is the co-founder and CEO of JoyfulPerson, a microlearning solution for frontline workers. He conceptualised a text-based pedagogy for frontline training because he understood the learning struggles of frontline workers and firmly believes that learning should be frictionless and accessible.
In addition, Wei Lin is also an investor and strategic advisor in four businesses - an award-winning, world-renowned gym franchise, Anytime Fitness at Kallang Wave, a fast-expanding restaurant franchise, Greendot at Westgate, a common mans cafe-bar, Huggs Coffee at 18 Tai Seng and Huggs Coffeebar at Paya Lebar Quarter.
Formerly a math teacher with the Ministry of Education, Wei Lin was awarded the prestigious MOE Scholarship and has won multiple awards for his endeavours in the field of Mathematics. He taught in a secondary school for 4 years and is passionate about teaching youths.
During his undergraduate days, Wei Lin represented Singapore in the Queen Entrepreneur’s Competition as the CEO of TimeOrDime.com, a website that connects errand runners with concierge service buyers based on the concept of social and service networking.
As a firm believer in service learning and community outreach, Wei Lin founded the SPMS Youth Expedition Project and led the team for a service-learning trip to Bagong Silang, Manila. SPMS YEP subsequently received the NTU Humanitarian Award for their contributions. He also founded the Singapore Outreach team in the NTU Investment Interactive Club, which conducts financial literacy workshops for secondary schools and tertiary institutions.

the ability to communicate complex ideas in simple words, to motivate a group of people towards a common goal and to stay laser-focused on immediate tasks while keeping a birds eye vantage on long term goals
