When I was working at Ministry of Defence Singapore (MINDEF) (Feb 2018 - Feb 2020), I demonstrated the Human Resources skill when I was responsible for generating timely reports and executing key Human Resource (HR) workflows such as staffing and promotion while undergoing management restructuring. To tackle this challenge, I proactively learned and facilitated the transfer of various workflows and task management techniques from external HR branches and through the use of Knowledge Management skills, while ensuring report and workflow deadlines are met. As a result, I managed to positively affect key areas of organisational restructuring by ensuring swift transfer of new workflows to the HR branch served, and improving the onboarding process for future staff.

When I was working at Nanyang Technological University (Aug 2020 - Present), I demonstrated the Bioinformatics skill when I was part of a project to identify age-associated differences in gene expression in mice models by applying machine learning algorithms to biological datasets as part of a 4-week project. To tackle this challenge, I proactively learnt and applied programming languages such as Python and R for use in bioinformatic applications such as principal component analysis and hypergeometric tests. As a result, I managed to complete identify key genes whose expressions were significantly upregulated or downregulated as a result of aging..
Thesis Student @ Nanyang Institute of Structural Biology
When I was working at Nanyang Institute of Structural Biology (Jun 2023 - Dec 2023), I demonstrated the Drug Development skill when I was tasked to do validate nanobody drug candidates in vitro and in silico for future applications. To tackle this challenge, I proactively used both protein engineering and data-driven approaches to gather conclusive information on the nanobody properties. As a result, I managed to complete analysis of the drug performance such as its target affinity, backed by both assay-based experimental data and molecular predictions generated from bioinformatic tools.

I would have taken pursued a double major programme for biological sciences and business.

What is the next career goal that you are planning for?
I am looking to explore careers in Finance and developing skillsets required for potential roles.
