Summary
When I was 5, my dream job was working as a service staff in Mcdonald’s because I was sold on its story - a Happy Place with Happy Meals. How can a chubby and naïve kid not be lovin’ it?
I was always sold on that story and vision – it stuck. And I came to a realisation – why not leverage on my skill sets and talents to help technology brands tell a better story – to transform the world of Technology into a Happy Place with Happy Products and showcase how we can improve peoples’ lives?
Since then, I have spent 8 years across marketing and communication roles to help solve business problems and create impactful outcomes for technology brands such as SAP, Microsoft, CA Technologies, etc. Currently a marketer with SAP, my current role is to look into the way we market digitally and enable the Southeast Asia marketing team to become a whole lot more digitally savvy. My additional portfolio is to drive marketing in an industries approach – particularly to the public sector. To me, marketing requires both a scientific and artistic approach. A self-starter, I enjoy tapping into my creative side to conceptualise campaigns and programs while leveraging on data and analytics to gather insights and measure outcomes. I love to ideate and spark off new ideas with people and then bring them to life – such as Asian Innovators Summit which has garnered accolades in 2017 and 2019.
For potential mentees:
Having been in the workforce for a while, i would love to share my experiences with anyone willing to listen - and especially to anyone who is about to step into the workforce and is keen on becoming a marketer. Once a twinkle-eyed graduate myself, i would definitely love to take time out and share share with you valuable advice and knowledge that not many people may tell you once you are in the workforce. And to me this knowledge sharing is so so important as i absolutely believe in nurturing the next next generation of talent in Singapore.
