(1) Finance Systems Transformation Team which catalysed strategy-operation-technology integration and challenging status quo. The team was in charge of formulating digitalisation and transformation strategies, developing business models, price modelling, reviewing and re-engineering business processes/ systems, and implementing digital solutions. Key projects include formulating the shared services strategy and driving end-to-end digital corporate services for the whole of government.
(2) Finance Team which was in charge of FPA activities like budget forecasting and allocation, as well as operational finance requirements like financial accounting and procurement.
Concurrently also a trainer in project evaluation for the Public Services Finance Foundation Programme, since 2017.

Smart Nation and Digital Government Office SingaporeMoved from MOF to Smart Nation and Digital Government Office (SNDGO) due to reorganisation (creation of new department).
Led the pioneer Strategy and Masterplanning team of SNDGO to (a) develop Singapore’s Smart Nation and Digital Government plans; (b) identify and conceptualise new and high impact technology projects at the national level; and (c) identify SNDGO’s international engagement priorities.
Seconded back to MOF from Jan 2018 to Jul 2019 to lead transformation and digitalisation efforts.

Ministry of Finance SingaporeStarted as an Associate with Security and Resilience Programmes, investing public monies in areas/projects to maximize returns and impact. Budgeting and governance, project evaluation, policy analysis and strategic studies for the Communications Information (ICT, Digital Services, Data Media) and Foreign Affairs sectors.
Rotated to Digital Government Office as Senior Associate and subsequently Head. Managed a team of in-house consultants to formulate Governments digital strategy and initiatives. Developed business cases, managed the prototyping and piloting of corresponding digital government and smart nation projects.

What excites you about the industry you are in?
I am currently in the digital field. The area of digital is characterised by constant change. No one can ever say that they are the experts for long; experts are people that constantly embrace changes, keep themselves updated and excite people to do the same. The opportunities in this industry are boundless! You are not limited by your age, nor your previous courses of study.

If you were a college student again, what would you do differently to prepare you for your field?
Be inquisitive! Constantly ask questions not just in your area of studies, but also be curious about the community, society and the world.
Learn to learn better, and learn to apply. All industries evolve at lightning speed. The way to be the best is to constantly upgrade, and be ready to apply new knowledge.
