Work Experience
People Consultant May 2024 - Aug 2024
EY SingaporeDuring my internship, I worked on a client-facing Change Management project in a 4-man collaborative team. As a consulting intern, I had real-world experiences of having direct stakeholder management with the client via on-site communication with my team. Being able to sit in on key meetings enabled me to better understand the world of consulting and how the various stakeholders interact to drive the project forward. I was constantly involved in cross-functional discussions with the team leads and played a pivotal role in ensuring that key pointers are taken note in the minutes of the discussion, and are enacted in the work we produce.
Apart from understanding organisational structure and design, as well as stakeholder engagement, another key pillar of change management lies in the implementation of training. My project team and I oversaw and paved the way in training the trainers and change agents responsible for cascading the changes to their team members, by monitoring user sentiment and user feedback as an assessment for the change readiness of the organisation, as well as assessing the change impact. My role allows me to be the constant driver of data analysis and visualisation of survey results through extrapolation via Excel and presentation via PowerPoint, to ensure that the clients get the information they want to know.
My contributions to the last pillar of communication empowered me in the creation of communication media at an organisational-wide level, to be cascaded to the various departments of the organisation. The tools that I have used in my designing of communications include templates for Microsoft Outlook, slide decks for Proposals, as well as event details to be published through Canva design. In addition to designing, I was in charge of the production of organisational corporate communications through the conducting of video shoots for the client at the c-suite level. Davinci Resolve was one such editing skill I have picked up for my edits.
AI Tester and Trainer Aug 2024 - Present
Outlier SingaporeI work directly with the company in order to conduct testing on Large Language Models (LLMs) provided by the clients that engage the firm, so as to improve the results generated by the LLMs through the vetting and correction of the input provided and the output generated. Other aspects of my jobscope includes doing research on my own end to vet and ensure the accuracy of the outputs so as to train the AI models to identify errors within the data and to flag them out when necessary.
Junior HR Consultant Jun 2023 - Jul 2023
Mavericks Consulting SingaporeMy first start-up internship at Mavericks Consulting was greatly insightful in the HR Consulting and IT Consulting field. My time there allowed me to grasp the industrys best practices in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), as well as adopting new ways of work. The learning of Agile while being able to work in such an environment empowers me to manoeuvre and communicate effectively with my peers. From the daily stand-up meetings to the concept and introduction of sprints with the implementation of Scrum, Scrum masters and Kanban boards, alongside new project management tools like Trello and Slack for ease of communication, my new understanding of the way of working has been greatly smoothened. Additionally, I was trained in interview skills and resume screening to ensure that the best and most qualified individuals are recruited for the job. I was tasked with the upkeep and reviewing of 5 different recruiting platforms and served as an interviewer on phone screens.
Research Assistant Jul 2019 - Jan 2020
Duke NUS Medical School SingaporeI was a research assistant in the emerging infectious diseases lab at Duke-NUS Medical School working with Post-doctorade graduates as well as with Professors in the field of virology. During my time there, I was shortlisted to present my findings in my Major Project on Flaviviruses of the Zika virus and Dengue strain to the scientific community in the annual DUNES Symposium, a convention spearheaded by Duke--NUS. The attendance of event catered towards major biotechnological companies like BioRad to come down with their sales representatives to decide if a project was worth investing in and as a student at that time, I was humbled by the opportunity to test out a new form of lab technology known as Luminex, for my virus work. This experience allowed me to have a public speaking experience in front of potential investors and company representatives, as well as with members and professors of the scientific community through the QA segment. Overall, my project team of 3 comprising my professor, a senior and me as a lab technician, were able to derive and present key findings in our biweekly stand-up meetings alongside large-scale symposiums.
