If there is one aspect of my job that I dislike most, its the office politics and cronyism

What are some personal projects or ideas you have worked on or are working on now?
I have had great mentors throughout my career although none we really formal arrangements but one things for sure, these individuals have given me opportunities and knowledge that made me who I am today. My current project is to find ways or platforms to pay it forward and pass my knowledge on to the next generation.

What sacrifices have you had to make to succeed in this field, and do you feel the sacrifices were worth it?
When I started out, I signed myself up for every extra assignments and work whenever possible. I sacrificed countless weekends and down time but I gained valuable experience from it. It also allowed be to stand out from fellow peers.

If you were a college student again, what would you do differently to prepare you for your field?
I will speak to as many mentors or professionals in the industry to get a sense of what their roles are like and what to expect. From those discussions, I will have a better sense of the path that suits me. This would have saved me a lot of time jumping from roles to roles learning it through trial and error.
