Background in detailed mechanical design of pressure vessel to ASME Section VIII Division 1 2, tanks to API650, rectangular tanks, and shell tube heat exchangers to TEMA; at ease preparing spreadsheet-based calculations. Have strong technical and data analysis skills, and resourceful at weight/size estimation for static equipment. Excels at, and enjoys, thermal sizing/optimization and re-rating for Shell Tube exchangers and Fin-fan Coolers. Can work independently or in a team. Adept at handling buyer-vendor relationships to gain leverage.
26years experience in design engineering, package engineering, including roles of bid/proposal engineer and project engineer. Experienced working in a collaborative multi-disciplinary and multi-national environment. Work experience covers on-shore and off-shore equipment, in FEED and EPIC projects. What sacrifices have you had to make to succeed in this field, and do you feel the sacrifices were worth it?
Staying in the industry, and not switching here and there to other careers, allowed me to establish a strong CV with which to secure senior positions that command the appropriate remuneration levels.

What experience did you find most invaluable in your career so far?
Working overseas (Japan, Norway, short stints in S Africa) gave exposure to different systems, tools, work cultures, getting to know people from those countries and making friends.

What are the tools or technology that you enjoy using for your work?
HTRI Thermal Design Software ... it is a joy to do thermal sizing of Shell Tube Exchangers with this software.
