How do you effectively manage your work?
Planning my week ahead of time, defining the top things that I need to focus on, taking a lot of notes and a sorted to-do list. Many other things, but these are the first few things I tried and they have been a real game changer for me.

What excites you about the industry you are in?
It is constantly evolving and full of opportunities. We are only limited by our own ability to create and innovate.

Have you considered going into other fields? What other fields do you think you are well-suited for and why?
I used to want to be (from my early childhood to now, in that specific order) an architect, a teacher, a Pokemon trainer and a doctor. I have been coding since my early teenage years but did not realize right away I could make that a career. To this day I still do not regret my choice. :)

What experience did you find most invaluable in your career so far?
The mentors I have had over the years. I learned so much from them, and they played a huge part in where I am today. Find mentors and managers who are genuinely interested in seeing you grow!

What do you do to keep up with the current issues and trends in your field?
Blog articles, mailing lists, books and e-learning platforms. Conventions are also a great way to learn about these, and most major international events like Q-Con or Devoxx upload session recordings on YouTube. Amazing content for free!

What achievements in your career are you most proud of?
I have had the chance to work on many fascinating technical challenges and design relatively complex software architectures. That being said, I also had the chance to coach and manage great people who became some of the most amazing engineers I have ever worked with. I am very proud of them, and even though a large portion of the credit goes to them and the efforts they put in their own growth, it makes me happy to know I had a role to play in this.
