GeroPsych Consultants Pte Ltd SingaporeGeroPsych Consultants Pte. Ltd. is an integrated health and social care consultancy founded on a knowledge enterprise model in August 2017. We aim to inform and train stakeholders, as well as create and share knowledge, on the psychological aspects of ageing and caregiving of seniors.
Essentially, we:
a. Inform
- gather evidence and make sense of available data, to provide accurate and timely information requested by our stakeholders.
b. Train
- impart research- and evidence-based skills in geropsychology to meet the needs of our stakeholders.
c. Create
- conduct research and programme evaluation to measure, describe, explain and predict present and future geropsychological phenomena that are relevant to our stakeholders.
d. Share
- deliver presentations of relevant and appropriate knowledge in geropsychology to the community to increase public awareness.
Within two and half years of inception, GeroPsych Consultants Pte. Ltd. has grown multi-fold in our operational capability, capacity and financial revenue. We acquired and extended two governmental competitive contracts to provide high quality research services and manpower deployment to the Singapore Health Promotion Board and Ministry of Family and Social Development. We received five commissions from local institutions of higher learning, including the National University of Singapore, and Nanyang Technological University. From one man, we have grown into a team of eight full-time and part-time staff comprising research analysts, data collection field workers, administrative officers and trainers. Recently, we developed the first caregiver psychosocial training package which has been approved for use by the Singapore Agency for Integrated Care.
Going forward, we hope to consolidate our gains and extend our reach to even more seniors and their caregivers in Singapore. We look forward to new partnerships with service providers, technology developers, and knowledge centres of excellence in the field of geropsychology locally and regionally.

Why are you here?
I wish to give back. What better way than to train the next generation of professionals who would do the same or even better?

What is the biggest challenge that you face in this field?
Poor general awareness. Microsoft Office applications autocorrect geropsychology into neuropsychology! Virtually no one has heard of this term, even among health and social care industry counterparts.
Everyone knows the world population is ageing. Yet many of us appear to interpret this to imply only increasing medical needs requiring enhanced and well-coordinated physical healthcare.
