Summary
I am the co-founder of an award-winning Creative Agency with teams in Singapore, Jakarta, Manila, and Shanghai. My Co-founder and I set up the firm in 2006, we Hustle and Grind to achieve SGD 1 Million in revenue within our first financial year. Along the way, we also had 9 other failed ventures, but we are holding on to our mantra of THINK BIG WIN THE WORLD.
In the past 15 years, I have been consulting and executing Brand activation campaigns in Singapore and regional cities including Jakarta, Bali, Manila, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong. I believe that Entrepreneurship is a mindset best reflected in actions, failures, and courage instead of academic grades and assessments.

Q&A with Larson Ong
What kind of education or training did you find most useful in your field?
Personally, I think formal education in schools is important as they trigger logical thinking and problem-solving skills, in addition to soft skills such as social skills and teamwork. But actual failed projects offer an opportunity to learn that you might not get in school. So take the plunge, try out that idea that you believe in, change along the way and dont take too long to sob if it fails.

Describe a project or idea (not necessarily your own) that was implemented primarily because of your efforts.
I believe in the power of Branding and Brand equity. And 2 brands make the story twice as powerful as 1 brand, so we love Collaboration. Since 2006 our firm has led many discussions and nurtured collaborations into powerful campaigns including Lexus X Changi Airport, HBO x Jonnie Walker, Disney X Capitaland and more recently Lamborgini x Harpers Bazaar. What did you do to make yourself marketable?
Reach out.
FInd the options that can help market you or your firm and reach out. Be brave to approach that someone or an organisation you think can help you along, either giving you advice, connecting you with a lead, etc. Be respectful, be genuine, and know that you will face rejections. But for every 9 rejections you encountered, you will get 1 genuine help. And that might be all you need for that project.

How do you attempt to overcome your lack of knowledge in particular areas?
Ask.
One big difference now and the period when I started my firm is technology. There are many business networking platforms such as LinkedIn and Clubhouse where many experienced entrepreneurs and professionals are willing to share. So Just ask.
