Q&A with Bryan Phang
What would you bring to a team if you join them?
I would bring about a positive and awe-inspiring work attitude, with a tinge of humor. I enjoy collaboration amongst peers and crave for meaningful communication when it comes to group projects. In majority of my group discussions, I do my best to ensure that every member of the team would be aware and supportive, moving forward with an idea in mind. Outside of work, I enjoy socializing and getting to know my new friends well.

What are the tools or technology that you enjoy using for your work?
I really enjoy using SolidWorks for one of my core modules at NTU. We were tasked to come up with 3D models and subsequently, 2D drawing representations of said models. Fortuitously, a group project module required the aid of an AutoCAD software. I was hence able to apply learnt knowledge and skills in SolidWorks to come up with a 3D rendition of a bus ramp model, that would serve to be the prototype design leading up to an engineering innovation and design event.

How do you attempt to overcome your lack of knowledge in particular areas?
If it is of a familiar field or background, I would try to apply logical deduction and reasoning to make approximate assumptions about it. If not, I would conduct research in my free time to get a gist of what the subject matter stands for.
