What are some mistakes that you have made in your career? How did you deal with it and what have you learned from them?
Everything that I have received in life so far, has been a learning and a blessing. I would not call them mistakes as they were opportunities to learn, unlearn and relearn. Self-awareness is what I lacked in my 20s. Hence it took me a long time to discover my passion.
I began my professional career as an electrical engineer. I made some sharp, distinct changes in my profession and realised that though was math exciting, I figured that what I really enjoyed was connecting and helping individuals. My desire to connect with individuals at a deeper level made me pivot to counselling and eventually coaching.

What are some examples that illustrate how you have generated ideas that represent thinking 'outside the box'?
I believe in dancing in the moment with my client. Recently one of my clients was facing severe anxiety right before her job interview. She had fear that she would not be successful in getting employed. I knew that my client was capable and all she needed was confidence and belief in herself. I was aware that one of my clients hobbies was to sing in a band and in her words I forget everything when I am on stage singing. It is a beautiful experience.
I asked her If you look at this interview as a song that you would be singing on the stage, then what becomes available to you? My clients face immediately lit up. There was a shift in her perspective about the interview. She said I would then sing my song without worrying about the results. I continued the session reinforcing her faith in herself. With role-play her confidence grew further and she got hired by the consulting firm she was interviewing with.
