Q&A with Soon Lee Kong
Describe a time when you demonstrated leadership skills.
There was a time my friends and I were stuck on top of a mountain top late at night in Korea.
It was snowing heavily with no visibility of any route. I then took charge of the situation, volunteered to be at the forefront to lead and check out potential routes while checking for any dangers and letting my friends know which pathway is safe for crossing. In the end, we managed to get down safely without any injuries through our teamwork and my leadership skills throughout this arduous journey.

How do you attempt to overcome your lack of knowledge in particular areas?
1. Google. Google is your best friend and just reading about certain topics or industries through established websites will help me to understand things that I do not have much knowledge in
2. Seek out help from other people who have knowledge and expertise in these areas and ask them questions to which you have doubts in
3. If all else fails, ask other people how they go about improving themselves and learn from them

If you were a college student again, what would you do differently to prepare you for your field?
I would have spent time during my year 1 thinking about what career choices I want and try out stints at smaller companies to see if these career choices are suitable for me. Afterwards, I would then concentrate on the jobs I would prefer and hopefully have a higher success rate.
